Wf�REAS, Richard A. Nelson; Richard Gilbert; Thomas Weyandt;
and Albert Schramm, employees of the Department of Public Safety,
Bureau of Fire Protection, were injured in a third party accident
on September 27, 1967, while engaged in the performance of their
duties; and
WHEREAS, the City has incurred medical expense in the total
amount of �421. 10 therefor, and said employees were disabled
from work for a period of time being paid salary in the total
amount of �869. 35, for which the City may claim credit at the
rate of �60.00 per week; and that the City Fire Engine No. 18 was
also damaged in said accident to the extent of �1,225. 1g, for
which Comptroller' s Registered Bill No. 3-556s was issued; and
WHEREAS, the matter of City of Saint Paul vs. Dorothy V.
Burchett was tried before the Honorable J. Jerome Plunkett, Judge �
of District Court on April 28, 1971, resulting in a judgment for
plaintif� City of Saint Paul in the amount of �1,'760.95; now,
. therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officers are hereby authorized
to accept the sum oY �1,760.95 in full, final and complete
settlement of its claim herein and to execute any necessary
releases therefor; that of said sum �336.00 is thereby credited
to the Fire Department Salary Fund; $lgg.76 to the Workmen' s
Compensation Fund; and �1,225.19 in payment of Registered Bill
No. 3-556s.
