If God wants it, He will pay for it;" and WHEREAS, their prayers were answered by friends, foundations and partners from throughout the community who have supported what came to be known as the "living room of the homeless; ' and WIIEREAS, Listening House committed itself simply to listening to the stories of the poor and, in so doing, being a unique place of healing, forgiveness and acceptance; and 10 11 WHEREAS, Listening House today, under the remazkabie leadership of Rosemarie Reger-Rumsey, greets an 12 average of 180 gaests a day, provides a range of supportive service--from haircuts to blankets to voice mail--in 13 addition to the incomparable gifts of compassion and respect; 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul extends its gratitude to 15 Listening House for its twenty years of service to thousands of our neighbars and proclaims Wednesday, 16 December 17, 2003 to be Listening House Day in the City of Saint Paul.
