Marshall City Clerk Room 386 City Hall Dear Sir: This is written in response to the application of Douglas DeCoster (Standard Oil Company) for a permit to install a new filling station on property located on the southeast corner of Wheelock Parkway and I-35E. This property is further described as: Lots 12-15, except the west 20 feet thereof, Block 2, Kavanagh and Dawson's Addition, including all of vacated Sloan Street adjoining, subject to parkway easement. This matter was heard at the March 18, 1971, Board of Zoning public hearing. The staff reported that the Traffic Engineer reviewed the plan and feels the driveway being located 10 feet east of the west property line would be acceptable but suggests 30 feet instead. The attorney for the applicant noted that they plan to move the driveway to 20 feet from the property line but cannot move it to 30 feet. The Board discussed the reasons the Traffic Engineer requested the extra distance. Subsequently, there was a motion to recommend approval subject to revised plans being submitted which showed the changes indicated by the applicant's representative.
