WHEREAS , the Council of the City of 5aint Paul is informed
by the City Architect that the vacant and open building located
at 526 Arundel St. in the City of Saint Paul is a proximate
hazard to the public health, welfare and safety; and
WHEREAS, the last known record owners of said property are
Kenneth M. & Emma McKenzie, 1915 Arcade St, and said owners have
failed to secure the same against entry by unauthorized persons
in violation of Section 192. 18 of the Saint Paul Legislative
Code, and said vacant and open building and two porches are in
a dangerous condition and have been found and determined by
the Council of the City of Saint Paul to constitute a menace
to the public health, welfare and safety and a public nuisance
which must be immediately abated to prevent loss of life, or
property; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Architect is authorized and
directed to immediately secure said building and remove two
porches by the use of contract labor under Contract No. 7398
pending proceedings under the Hazardous Buildings Act; aric�� be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the expense of securing such building
be paid from Fund No. 0979-269, Summary Abatement, and that the
Corporation Counsel be directed to take appropriate action to
reimburse said fund by action against the owner of said property.
