WHBREAS, it is important in the fnterest of health and esthetic
value to give special encouragement to those desiring to accomplish a
special cleanup of their premises following a long, arduous winter, and
WHEREAS, the week of April 18th through the 24th, 1971, is being
designated by individuals, organizations, and neighborhood associations
as "Clean Up, Fix Up, Paint Up Week" coordinated by the St. Paul Beautiful
Council of the City of St. Paul.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that for the day of April 24, 1971,
landfill disposal charges at Pig's Eye Sanitary Landfill shall be waived'
for residents of the City of St. Paul. This waiver shall apply only for
refuse delivered to the landfill in automobiles, 2-wheel trailers, and
pickup trucks up to 1/2 ton capacity.

St. Paul's Clean-Up week is again being coordinated
by St. Paul Beautiful Coordinating Council.
As was the case last xear, we have selected the
third week in April ar April 18-24, I971. Coinci-
dentally, this period has aiso been designated
National "Ecology t�aeek" by President Nixon.
As part of our effort, we have asked the I�iayor •
to proclaim "C1ean-Up F��eek" , and have asked
that the Pigs Eye Landfill be opened to the
public without charge on April 24, 1971.
You or your g=oup can help make the city sparkle.
Please pitch in, get the old cans, bottles and
papers out of the parks, lawns and ravines.
Pateh up and paint up where necessaxy.
If you have a chance to take pictures of prajects
you undertake, �ae would appreciate your sharing
them with us so St. Paul might again enter the
h'ational Clean-Up Contest, and win an award again
this year.
