Mr. Henry Marshall
Office of the City Clerk
City of Saint Paul

St. Paul, Minnesota 55102
Dear Mr, Marshall:
This will acknowledge your letter of March 23, 1971 which included city resolution
253191. Our staff has been, for some time, involved in studies re(ated to estab-
lishing reroutings of existing bus lines and a new route that would provide direct
service to senior citizen high rise apartments. Further, our staff has conferred by
telephone with Commissioners Sprafka and Levine relevant to these studies and
our future proposals.
The purpose of this letter is to advise you that on Apri I 7, 1971 we w i I I recommend
to the Metropolitan Transit Commission Regulatory Committee the following:
(1) p► new route to serve the Redeemer Arms, Ravoux, and Central Senior
Citizen high rises which will provide direct service to downtown
St. Paul, transfer connections to all St. Paul MTC bus routes and a
direct connection to the Central Medical Center located along Inter-
state 94.
(2) .A revision to our route Number 9B Ft. Snelling - Hazel Park Route
so that direct service will be provided to the 1743 East lawa Street
high rise,
(f the Regulatory Committee concurs in these recommendations they will be
forvvarded to the Commission on April 14 for approval. Should authorization
be granted, the Transit Operating Division will implement these services prior
to the early part of May.
With regard to the resolution of the St. Paul City Council three other senior
citizen apartments are mentioned, i.e. 469 Ada Street, 1085 Montreal Avenue,
and 899 South Cleveland Avenue.
