Parking Ramp Fire/Security Temporary - CRQ #3R
Dear Susan,
Attached is pricing for Contractor Requested Change #3R,
which is temporary installation of Fire Alarm and
Security control equipment in Parking Ramp Office #062.
This proposal is presented at the Owners request per
response to RFI E2. Work of this proposal will allow
operation of these systems upon opening of the parking
ramp.
A brief summary of the work is as follows:
Fire Alarm System - The main fire alarm control panel and
EVAC panel will be temporarily installed in the parking
ramp office to accommodate the operation of the ramp life
sa£ety systems required for the opening date of the ramp.
Upon completion of the fire command room on second level
of the main building, the main control panel and EVAC
panel will be relocated to the fire command room.
Security System - Head end equipment will be installed in
the ramp office which will allow monitoring and control
of CC`I'V and Audio devices located in the ramp. Equipment
necessary to operate the system will be installed in the

main security office equipment closet which needs to be
completed by the ramp opening date. Details are provided
on the attached Subcontractor proposals. Please note
that the security quote is for a permanent installation
of equipment at the Ramp Office. If at the time of
opening of the main building the Owner wishes to remove
this equipment from the Parking Ramp Office to the Main
Security Office, a credit can be issued for reusing the
equipment_ This is not quoted as a strictly temporary
installation because the Security Subcontractor believes
the equipment will be subject to adverse conditions in
the ramp office that may make it undesirable for
installation in a sparkling new Main Security Office.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns
regarding this proposal.

RE: Saint Paul Civic Center
Parking Ramp Security System
Dear Susan:
I have reviewed your letter of October 2, 1996 and the enclosed Contractor's Proposal for
temporarily installiug the controi and monitoring equipment for the CCTV and audio devices in the
. Parking Ramp Office. The approach suggested by V'ideotronix, Inc. is sound. However I question
the use of two seventeen inch black and white monitors as listed on page 2 of the enclosed
Videotronix letter to Dan Youngquist. I recommend reconsidering color monitors. Twenty inch,
Panasonic CT2084Y monitors, can be purchased for only $240.00 more. When they are no longer
needed in the Parking Ramp Office, color monitors can be used elsewhere in the Civic Cemer with
VCR's or as stand alone play-back monitors in the Civic Center Security Ofce. Black and white
monitors witl be of no value to the Civic Center following their use in the Parking Ramp Office.
The additionat cost for a video time-lapse recorder is not necessary for this temporary installation.
However, if the Parking Ramp would like to continue recording the camera at the entrance to the
Parking Ramp after control ofthe other CCTV camera is moved fo the Civic Center Security
Office, the video time-lapse recorder maybe a good investment.

Please give me a call if you have any fiuther questions.
Sincerely,
 ^ l,i..
