RESOLVED, That the Counc il of the City of Saint Paul
hereby approves :
"A bill for an act relating to the fixing of
working hours of employees in the fire depart-
ment of the city of Saint Paul ; repealing Laws
1g47 , Chapter 305 , and Laws 1955, Chapter 153. "
and recommends the same to the Ramsey County Senate and
House delegations .

A bill for an act
relating to the fixing of working hours
of employees in the fire department of
the city of Saint Paul ; repealing Laws
194'7 , Chapter 305, and Laws i955, Chapte�
153.
HE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA :
Section i. Notwithstanding any provision of the
charter of the city of Saint Paul or any statutory enactment
to the contrary, the council of the city of Saint Paul ,
after the effective date of this act9 may by ordinance
establish the working hours of employees of the fire
department not in excess of 59 hours per week and not less
than 40 hours per week. In computing the working hours of
employees, they may be averaged on a bi-weekly basis .
, Sec. 2. Laws 1947, Chapter 305 , and Laws i955,
' Chapte� 153, are repealed.
Sec. 3. �'his act shall become effective only after

its approval by a ma,jority of the governing body of the
city of Saint Paul and upon compliance with the provisions
of Minnesota Statutes, Section 645.021.
