WHEREAS, due to the residential nature of this portion of Como Avenue, pedestrian safety
and neighborhood livability are compromised with excessive vehicle speeds; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that in accordance with Section 169.14, Subdivision 5 of the Minnesota Motor
Vehicle and Traffic Laws, the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the City of Saint
Paui to reduce the existing speed zone to 30 miles per hour on Como Avenue between Dale Street
and Gateway Drive.

Neighborhood residents are concerned about speeding on Como Avenue and have asked that we
consider lowering the speed limit. This segment of Como Avenue is presently 35 miles per hour.

given the City of Saint Paul permission to estabiish a lower speed limit and address resident concerns.
