In the Matter of reconstructing the sidewaTk some portion of which will be re-
placed with integral curb and sidewalk on the west side of South Smith Avenue from
Morton Street to Baker Street and on the east side of South Smith Avenue from Morton
Street to King Street and by doing all other work which is necessary and incidental to
complete s�id imlx ovement,
under Preliminary Order 253866 approved April 30� 1971
. The Council of the City of St. Paul having received the report of the Commissioner of Finance
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved and adopted, and the said improvement
is hereby ordered to be proceeded with.
2. That the nature of the improvement which the Council recommends is
to reconstruct the sidewalk, some portion of which will be replaced with integral
curb and sidewalk on the �ywest side of South Smith Avenue from Morton Street to
Baker Street and on the east side of South Smith Avenue from Morton Street to King
Street and by doing all other work which is necessary and incidenlal. to complete
said improvement, except where good and sufficient poured sidewalks now exist,
with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $.1�,c�n .,or i;n ft for 5' wide walk
$ 5.30 per 1in ft for 6' wide walk
$ 1.50 per sq ft for inte„curb & walk
Resolved Further, That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 2nd day of
Jul� 1971 , at the hour of 10 o'clock A.M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hail Building in the City of St. Paul. That the Commissioner of Finance give notice of
said meeting to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cast thereof as estimated.
