WHEREAS, the St. Paul Bureau of Health can improve
efficiency and reduce the cost of the Grade "A" Milk Program by
re-scheduling the hours of the personnel assigned to this Program; and
WHEREAS, Section 9 A 3 of the Civil Service Rules provides:
"To meet unusual conditions, and in the case of certain seasonal
employees whose total yearly hours do not exceed 2088, upon
request of the department head, a different schedule may be
established for particular groups of employees with the approval
of the Civil Service Commissioner and approval of the Council
by resolution. "
Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of St. Paul does hereby
approve that personnel assigned to the Grade "A" Milk Program perform
their duties by working a four-day week, ten hours a day, from the last
Sunday in April through the last Sunday in October.
