Re: Proposed Afaendment relating to Northern Statea
Power Company Elect=ic Rate Increase
atached proposed amendment haa been submitted to e
for approval as to form and leqality.
Z'here do not appear to be any legal problems presented
by the resolution, nor is the form improper. Howver, ther
ay be some inconsistency in the first "Resolved" clause
whereby tlze Council is objecting to any increase in electric
rates until after a detailed professional aaalysis of such
rate increase, since the majority of the Council has proposed
and pased and approved an o=dinance which allows a continued
interim rte increas, subject to a rate hearing, befose the
rates are stablished.
Prhap: the insertion of the w,rd "further" after the word
"any" and before the word "incree" would make the resolution
consistent with previoua actions of the Council while at tbe
same tie not changing the overall intent and purpo$e of tle
=esolution.
