In the Matter of reconstructing the sidewalk on both sides of Van Dyke Street fram
East Seventh Street to Ross Avenue and by doing all other work which is necessary and
incidental to complete said improvea�nt,
under Preliminary Order 253586 approved April 13, 1971
The Council of the City of St. Paul having received the report of the Commissioner of Finance
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved and adopted, and the said improvement
is hereby ordered to be proceeded with.
2. That the nature of the improvement which the Council recommends is
to reconstruct the sidewalk on both sides of Van Dqke StreeC from East Seventh
SCreet to Ross Avenue and by doing all other work �hich is necessary and incidental
to complete said improve�nt, except Where good and sufficient poured sidewalks na�
etist,
with no alternatives, and that the estimated coat thereof is $ 4.40 per lin ft for 5' wide walk
$ 5.30 per lin ft for 6' wide walk
Resolved Further, That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 17th day of
.Tune� 1971 , at the hour of 10 o'clock A.M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hail Building in the City of St. Paul. That the Commissioner of Finance give notice of
said meeting to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.

The Commisaioner of Public Works, having had under consideration the preliminary
order of the Council known as Council File No. 253586 approved
April 13th. 1971 relative to reconstructing the sidewalk on both sides
of Van Dyke St. from E. 7th.. St. to Ross Ave. and bv doing all other work which
is necessary and incidental to complete said improvement.
and having investigated the matters and things referred to therein, hereby reportsa
1. 2he estimated cost thereof is $4.40 per lin. ft, for standard sidewalk
5 ft. wicie and $5.30 per lin. ft. for standard sidewalk 6 ft. wicie.
2. A plan, profile or sketch of said improvemeat is hereto attached and
made a part thereof.
