T'he Co�amissioner of Public Safety and the Chief of
Police hav� asked me to request �pecia�l counsel to be
a�signed full time to the Bureau o� Police. Charter
�ection 178 provide� that special couasel a�ay be e�ploy�d
only at the request of the Carporation Counsel, with th�
appsova�l, by five-seventh� vote, of the Mayor and Council.
I believe tha�t it is absolutely esaential that a full-
ti�ae l�gal adwisor be assigned to the Bure�u of Police, and
therefore I am very happy to a�ake this request. It is my
ilYlC�erffit�AC��ACJ tYiBt the compensation will b� no m�rm than
$15,400.00 per pear and all exp�n:es will be paid out of
Bure�u of Police Fuads.
