Car on, Carmn. o Public Works ATF 1-8-71 Wi�RF�AS, In the matter Comptroller's Contract L-7327, for �he construction of Pedestrian Brid�e and Walkway over the tracks of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Raa.lroad Co�mpany (Ford Spur} betw��'n Edgcumbe Road and Prior Ave, Shelgren Construction Compar�y, Inc. , Contractor, the specified date of campletion was Nov. 27, 1970,and W�'�RE�AS, Due to matters beyond his control it was not possible to complete all the work by said date of completion and the Contractor has requested, in writir�� an extension of time for completion: and Wi�REAS, The C�n¢ni.ssioner of Public Works concurs with the Contractor's request and recommaends that such an e�ctension of ti�e for completion be granted; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the proper City afficials be and they axe hereby authorized and directed to execute an amendment to s�3.d Contract extending • the time of completion for erection of the cha3n link fencing and the pedestrian br3dge, so �hat the pedestrian bridge and walkway can be safely opened to pedestrian traf�ic, ta January 15, 1971 and to fl�rther extend the time of completion for final grading„ placing top soil, seed3ng and sodding a.d.�acent to the walkway; surface f3nishin� of eoncrete headwall; final. cleaning of the bridge superstructure; and final cleanup of the' area to June l, 1971; provided, however, that the Contractor shall be sub�ect to the liquidated damage provisions of the Contract for 3ts failuxe to complete the construction work in accordance with the Contract, as ainended herein; and flirther provided that this resolution shall have no force or effect unless the Contractor and the sureties on the Contractor's bond consent to this am+encim�ent to the Contract and file such consent in writin� with the City Comptrol.ler. ,f_�J�;:<-;2 r ';=,U'�" :� ....�..�. ..
