COMMISSIONE
WHEREAS, The GRIFFITH-POINT DOUGLAS RELIEF SEWER SYSTEM, when
constructed, will provide relief for the presently undercapacity
combined system and thus increase the capacity of the combined sewer
system within the Griffith-Point Douglas service area to meet
„ present design standards; and

,�.� WHEREAS, This relief storm sewer system will relieve the
area from basement and surface flooding; and
WHEREAS, The retief storm sewer system will abate pollution
by reducing the flow of caabined sewage from this area into the
Mississippi River; a�d
WHEREAS, This project is of a type eligible for federal aid
from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the City
is desirous of obtaini�g this aid, therefore, be it hereby
RESOLVED, That the City Council authorizes the Department of
Public Works to make application for fede�al aid.
