WHEREAS, Ordinance 3250 of the City of Satnt Paul sets forth
a Classification P1an containing two divisions known as the Graded
and Non-Graded Divisions as more fully defined therein; and
WHEREAS, the Graded Dtvtsion is arranged in occupational
groups including a manuai and maintenance group defined to encanpass
a11 posttions the duties of which are to perform or supervise manual
or maintenance work or to perform or supervise work of a generally
stmitar nature; and
WHEREAS, various employees in the manual and nwintenance occu-
�ations have expressed discon�ent with respect to wage rate polic4es
as applied to said occupations and have proposed that the t�tle class-
if�cations in such groups be com6ined into skilled ar�t unsktlted
dtvisions with uniform wage rates that reflect ranges of rates prevailing
in-industry for occupations of a simtlar nature; and
WHEREA5, the Mayor of the City of Satnt Paul has appointed a
cc�tanittee to study and draft salary formula proposals for employees

of the City of Saint Paul; now, therefore, be it
� RESOLVED, that the recommendation of said anployees of the manual
� and maintenance occupational group be referred to said c�mnittee for
° o proper study and recon�nendation to this Council.
