WHEktREA,S, the peaple of Saa.nt Paul have received direct and
substan�ial benefit throta�h the repaa.r, cleaning, and maintenance
of public parks, play�raunds, hausing axeas and other city property
by the R.E.A.P. summer youth ea�ployment program, thereby beautify-
in� and improving the overall qual.ity of li�e in our city; and
WHEREAS, in a tim�e of high unem�pla�yment, R.E.A.P. has been
able to employ over 900 youth and �+7 supervisory personnel who may
'� otherwise have not been able to find adequa.te j,rork this summer; and
W��REAS, the youth thus e�ployed have received valua.ble
tra,ining and i.mproved job�diness ski7ls which will most assuredly
benefit them in future yeaxs;
PTo�r, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, tha.t the City Council commend the R.E.A.P. program,
the �+2 participating organizations and their personnel for their
service to the people of the City of Saint Paul; be it
FURTI�R RESOLVED, tha.t the City Council of the City of Saint
Paul especial]y caanmend the 900 youth and �+7 supervisory personnel
who have perfor�ed such a worthy and exemplary effort for all the
peaple of Saint Paul.
