THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN; Section 1. That Ordinance No. 6446, approved January 23, 1g25, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out subsection F of Section I, and by substituting in lieu thereof the followi.ng: "Section I F VACATION-- In each calendar year, each regular or provisional employee shall be granted vacation at the rate of eighty hours per year. After five years of full-time service each such employee shall be granted vacation at the rate of one hundred twenty hours per year. After fifteen years of full-time service each such em- ployee shall be granted vacation at the rate of one hundred sixty hours per year. The head of the department may permit an em- ployee to carry over into the following year up to forLy hours. Any employee who does not work full time shall be granted vacation on a pro rata basis. The time of vacati.on shall be fixed by the head of the department in which the employee is employed. If an emplQyee has been granted more vacation than he has earned up to the t�me of his separation from the City service, the employee _ siiall reimburse the City for such unearned vacation. If an employee is separated from the service by reason of resignation, he sha�1 be granted such vacation pay as he may have earned and not used up to the time of such separation, provided that he has notified the department head in writing at least fifteen calendar days prior to the date of his resignation. If an employee is � separated from the service by reason of discharge, retirement or death, he shall be granted such vacation pay as he may have earned and not used up to the time of such separation. The pro» visions of this subsection F of Secti.on I shall not apply to temporary or emergency employees nor to any employee whose position is in the Special Employment section of the Ungraded Division (Section 7 of Ordinance No. 3250�, and who is paid by the �tour or by the performance. " Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty days after its passage, approval, and publication.
