A new airport at the Nerth Search Area would be particu- larly damaging to the ecology of the Cedar Creek Natural History Area, a 5600-acre tract , jointly operated for the past thirty years by the Minnesota Academy of Science and the University of Minnesota. This 5, 00 acre area, which is dedicaed to scientific research and teaching o natural history, has been in existance for thirty years and operated jointly by the Minnesota Acacemy of Science and the University of 1\/Iinnesota. It is a very unique area in its state of natural preservation particralarly when considering its proximity to a metropolitan complex.
