RESOLVED, That the St. Paul Jaycees are hereby authorized and per-
mitted to use Highland Parkway from Snelling Avenue east to Hamline
Avenue on Saturday, June 3, 1972 (first trial run) , Saturday, June 10,
1972 (second trial run) , and Saturday, June 17, 1972 for the Annual St.
Paul Soap Box Derby; be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby
authorized to issue a permit to said St. Paul Jaycees for the use of
said street upon and subject to the foliowing provisions, terms and con-
ditions:
1 . The Council hereby waives the requirement that the permittee
pay the cost of publication of this resolution;
2. That said permittee shall notify the Traffic Bureau of the
Publi� Works Department when the street is to be closed and
again when it is opened, and the City aiso waives the require-
ment that the permittee pay all costs incurred in the furnish-
ing, installing and removal of barricades, signs and other traf-
fic control devices;
%/�,j 3. The City hereby waives the requirement for the furnishing of a
/� . � � surety bond and public liability insurance, and the said per-
� mittee expressly agrees and undertakes to fully indemnify and
hold harmless the City of Saint Paul , its agents, officers and
employe�s from any and alt damages, claims, losses, judgments,
� suits or expenses arising out of or occasioned by the use of
3 said street contemplated by this permission and authority;
4. That saFd permittee shall file its written acceptance of this
resolution and of all the provisions, terms and conditions, of
� � the same with the City Clerk before the street is used by �he
o permittee, and in the event of its failure to do so, the per-
� mission and authority hereby granted shall lapse.
