That Ordinance No. 3250, approved August 20, 1914, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striki.ng out the word "three" where it appears in Section 8 A 7 and Section 8 A 10; and by substituting in lieu thereof the wor,d "five". Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty days after its passage, approval, and publication. If any person holding a position in Section 6 of the Rules is promoted to a position in a higher grade and his present salary is less but within �k�ee-five per cent of the minimum, or is the same, or more . than the minimum rate for the higher grade, he shall be paid at the next salary step which is at least �r�e- five per cent higher than his present rate, plus one additional step if he has already received a fifteen-year increase; provided, however, that no employee shall receive a rate of compensation greater than the fifteen-year step in the Standard Range applicable to his position. 10 If any person holding a position in a class i.n Section 7 of the Rules is appointed to a position in a class in Section 6 of the Rules, and the minimum entrance requirements for such class in Section 6 includes experience in the title that he held in Section 7, and his salary rate is more than the minimum rate of the salary range applicable to the position to which he is promoted, he shall be paid the salary step in the graded range which is at least �k�ee- five per cent higher than his present rate, provided that no person shall receive a rate of compensation greater than Step E if he has less than five years of City service, Step F if he has between five and ten years of service, the ten«.year step if he has between ten and fifteen years of service, or the maximum if he has over fifteen years of service, (We are proposing this change in Ordinance 3250 because a 3% increase is no longer adequate when a man is promoted, particularly to a supervisory position. } �;, i�t .�/�� �:a ��o " 31�- �� Adcpted � YE:aS �?ayS \HUNT . �� �� � �CNOPATZKI , .
