WHEREAS, The Public Stairway heretofore maintained in that section of Prescott
Street east of Woodbury has been severely damaged by vandals; and
Wf�REAS, 3'he residences in Prescott Street between Woodbury Street and Brown
Avenue have been remrnred; and
WI�REA,S, Adequate alternate routes are available for pedestrian travel at Ba.ncrof't
Avenue and at Brown Avenue and the public good no longer requ3res the existence of said
sta3rway but ratY�er that the interest of the public requires that the stairway be
removed rather than invest further considerable sums in rebuilding the sta3rway, therefore�
be it
RESOLVED, That the removal of the stairway is hereby authorized and the Com�.issioner
of Public Works is directed to dismantle and remove said stairway; and be it
FURTI�R RESOLVED, That an adequate barrica.de be maintained by said Co�nissioner at
the west extremity of aforesaid section of Prescott Street now occupied by the sta3rway
to the end tha,t none of the same shall be available hereafter for public travel thereon.
All costs of removal and erection of barrica.de to be chax�ed to Bridge Buildin� and
Repa3r Fund Oe92.
