COMMISSIONE TF WHEREAS, the Mississippi River, its valley and adjoining bluffs represents a vast natural resa►t�rce; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul recognises the importance of such a vast natural resource to the present and future social, cultural, economic, and reereational development of the City and Metropolitan Region; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Board of the City of Saint Paul in cooperation with the Port Authority of the City of Saint Paul has had a comprehensive Land-Use Plan prepared by Eckbo, Dean, Austin, and Williams, known as "MISSISSIPPI RIVER"; and WHEREAS, said plan as prepared and submitted recognizes multiple uses of the river valley and encourages and proposes multiple land uses and land-use policies in said river valley; and WHEREAS, said plan develops broad coneepts of land-use allocation and a flexible, workable, multiple land-use approach for the river valley and the port district contained therein; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Board of the City of Saint Paul has adopted the report "MISSTSSIPPI RIVER" as representing a sound concept for future land-use allocation and for the determination of public land-use policy in the MISSISSTPI RIVER VALLEY in Saint Paul; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Board of the City of Saint Paul has further referred the report to the City Council as representing a reasonable basis for the development of sound public policy for future land use; and WHEREAS, the Port Authority of the City of Saint Paul in its Resolution Number 689 did adopt and approve in concept the proposed uses and policies prescribed by the "MISSISSIPPI RIVER" Report; �o�v►�. q, p�roYe � COUNCILMEN Adopted by the Council 19— � ��������� Yeas Nays �� Butler �� �''�' �" Carlson Approve� 19— Levine Tn Favor Meredith Sprafk� Mayor A gainst Tedesco � � Mr. President, McCarty � � �� ORIGIN/LL TO CITY CLERK ���V�� . , CITY OF ST.
