WHEREAS, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson is a world-renowned
Jewish leader and has been instrumental in the spiritual revitalization of
Judaism throughout the world, and
WHEREAS, Rabbi Menachem M. Sc:hneerson is the founder and director
of the Merlcos L'Inyonei C�hinuch (Central Organ for Jewish Educati.on) which
maintains Jewish educational programs and academic centers throughout the
United States, and
WHEREAS, Rabbi Menachem M. 5chneerson has been honored for his
faithful service, for his diligent and unselfish efforts to restore spiritual
values, and for his profound wisdom and spiritual leadership of thousands of
Jewish and non-Jewis'h people in our community, and
WHEREAS, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson's 70th birthday on March 26,
1972, (Nissan II, 5732) has been the occasion of honors and praise from leaders
throughout the United States, so
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Council, on behalf of itself
and the people of St. Paul, does hereby respectfully com.mend and honor Rabbi
Schneerson for his dedicated service to the spiritual and intellectual well being
of all people.
