WHEREAS, William J. Denn, n employee of the Department of
Public Utilities, was injured in third party accident on October
15, 1g66, while engaged in the pe�ormance of his duties; and
WHEREAS, the City has incurred medical expense in the amount
of �420.25 therefor; and
WHEREAS, a compromise settlement has been negotiated between
said employee and the other party involved in said accident, which
provides for a net settlement to the City in the amount of �266.50,
after deductions for proportionate attorney' s fees and costs; and
WHEREAS, the City is in receipt of two checks; one in the amount
of �266.50 from Gerald C. Magee, attorney for William J. Denn, which
represents the compromise settlement to the City, and one in the amount
of �4,842.95 from American Universal Insurance Company, which represents
William J. Denn' s third party settlement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper Gity officers are hereby authorized
to accept the check in the amount of �266.50 in full , final and
complete settlement of its claim herein and to have �Me Commissioner
of Finan.ce endorse and return to W��.liam; J. Denn the check in the
amount of �4,842.95; that the sum of �266.50 is thereby credited
to the Wor�men' s Compensation Fur�d..
