WI�REAS, The Committee on Lands� composed of the Mayor, the Purchasing Agent�
the Co�ssioner of Finance, and the Commissioner of Public Works of the City
of Sa.int Pa.ul� has secured an agreernent for the puxchase of that certain
property and easement descr�bed as follows:
That part of Lot 8, Dehmer•s Subdivision af Lots 1 and 2 of Block 1
of St. Pa.ul North fha.t Lots, lying Northeasterly of the follawing
described line: Beginning at a point on the East line of said Lot
8, a distance of 8.4 feet South of the North��.st corner of said Lot
8� thence NortY�resterly on a straight line to a point on the North
line of said Lot 8 a distance of 26.�+ feet West of the Northeast
corner of said Lot 8 and there termin�ating. Also, an ea.sement in the
land necessary for the slopes� cuts and fi]1s, i.ncluding right of re-
rnoval of lateral support f`rom subject land or r�nainder thereof,
occa.sioned by excavations thereof or construction of slopes in the
improvement of the in-�ersection of N�.ryland�P,venue at Jackson Street
in said Lot 8 except that part thereof as h�reinbefore described,
as shawn on Opening Drawing No. 2129, Drawer �+ on file in the D�part-
ment of Public Works.
Tr�REAS� The prop�.rty and easpnent described therein is necessary for the opening�
widening, and expa.nsion of -the inters�etion of Nlaryland Avenue at Jacks,on Str.�et
(City Pro�ect P-0526R), and the price at which the property ma.y be purcha.sed. is

The City of Saint Paul� acting through its Valuation Engineer� has negotiated
to purchase certain property and easement described as follows;
That pa.rt of Lot 8� Del�tner's Subdivision of Lots 1 and 2
of Block 1 of St. Paul North Out I,ots, lying Northeasterly of
the following described. line: Beginning at a poi.nt on the
East line of said Lot 8, a distance of 8.�+ feet South of
the Northeast corner of said Lot 8; thence Northwesterly on
a straight line to a point on the IvTorth line of said Lot 8
a dista„nce of 26.4 feet West of the Northeast corner of
said Lot 8 and there terminating. A1so, an easement in the
land necessa.ry for the slopes� cuts and fills� including
right of removal of lateral support from subject land or re-
mainder thereof, occasioned by excavations thereof or con-
struction of sl.opes i�7 the improvement of the intersection of
T•Za.ryland Avenue at Jackson Street in said Lot 8 exe�pt that
part thereof as herei.nbefore described� as shawn on Opening

The owner of the above described land� gnma H. C�ilefone� has accepted an
offer tendered her by the City in the amount of �1�200.00 as compensation
for the sale of the land and easement to the City.
This property is needed by the City of 5aint Pa�l for the opening� widening,
and e�pansion of the intersection of Maryland Avenue at Jackson Street (City
Project P-0526R). Tn vi�va of the reasonable price for which it can be pur-
chased� said price being the appraised faix and reasonable market value
therefore� we� the Co�nittee on Lands� do recommend to the Council of the City
� of Saint Paul tha.t it authorize the purchase of said land and easement in lie�t
of condemnation proceedi.n�s at the price of y�1,200.00, as negotiated with the
owner.
