WHEREAS, Dennis R. Hughes, an employee of the Bureau of
Police and Fire Alarm, was injured in a third party accident
on June 20, 196�� while engaged in the performance of h�s duties;
and
WHEREAS, the City has incurred medical expense in the amount
of �3,2'73.65 therefor, and said employee was disabled �rom work
for a period of time b�ing paid compensation at the rate of �60.00
per weEk for which the City may claim credit at the rate of �60.00
per week; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to an Award of the Minnesota Industrial
Commission, Dennis R. Hughes was paid �1'7,008. 50, representing
283.4'75 weeks of compensation at the rate of �60.00, said sum
representing permanent partial disability sustained by Dennis R.
Hughes; and
WHEREAS, a compromise settlement has been negotiatEd bEtwEEn
said em�loyee and the other party involved in said accident, which
provides for a net settlement to the City in the amo��t,��;a�-,_�14,OOU,..U�; � �-
now, thcx�fore,_,.be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officers are hereby� authorized
to accept the sum of �14,000.00 in full, final and complete settlement
of its claim herein and to execute any necessary releases therefor;�
and that said sum of �14,000.00 is to be credited to the Workmen' s
Compensation Fund.
