1 WEiEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has become a regional center for arts, culture and entertainment through a rich variety of
2 organizations and institurions committed to creating a vibrant urban center; and
3 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul joined together with Melaleuca, Inc. to create Saint Paul Memorial Day Melaleuca Freedom
4 Celebrarion, which drew more than one hundred thousand people to Saint Paul; and
5 WHEREAS, Melaleuca, Inc. has held this event for the past nine yeazs in Tdaho Falls, Idaho and plan on continuing the event
6 annually here in Saint Paul; and
7 WHEREAS, Melaleuca Inc. wishes to bring a City representarive to Idaho Falls, Idaho for the pwpose of observing the
8 produclion of the event and Melaleuca Inc. feels there is much to be learned from the Idaho Falls produc6on; and
9 WHEREAS, Cazl Kuhl worked closely with all involved on the inaugnxal Saint Paul Memorial Day Melaleuca Freedom
10 Celebra6on and can learn much from the firsthand experience of an event that has been ongoing for the past nine yeazs;
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council supports the vision of bringing hundreds of thousands
12 of people to the City of Saint Paul on Memorial Day and accepts the gift for the above public purpose of airline rickets
13 and accommodarions for Carl Kuhl, Assistant to the D'uector of Mazketing, Promorions and Communications to attend the Idaho Falls
14 Melaleuca Freedom Celebrarion.
