Gentlemen:
The Build.ing Department is hereby submitting its report on the
condition of the structure at the above location.
The ownersof record are Robert J. and Mary M. Bowlin and
Edward T, and. Florence Bowlin, and the legal description of the property is
the Northwesterly 34 ft, of Lot 13 and part of Lot 5 Southwesterly of Jackson
Street and Southeasterly of extend.ed. Northwesterly line of Subdivision Lot 12,
Block 20 Ashton-Sherburne Addition.
A recent inspection indicates the following:
Building Classification: Duplex.
Exterior: Dilapidated. appearance, front porches have collapsed.,
siding, trim, gutters are damaged. and deteriorating. The roof covering is
badly worn and the front porch roofs are hanging precariously from the top
since the supports have been removed.
Bas ement : Limestone found.ation needs repair.
First Floor: 8 rooms, vandalized,, exposed to weather; plumbing,
heating and. wiring have been vand.alized and./or removed.
Second. Floor: 6 rooms, same as first floor. Attic has been
wrecked by vandals.
This property has been vacant for over a year and has apparently
been abandoned. The interior floors and walls have been exposed to weather

our warnings, it is the recommend.ation of this bureau that this matter be
referred to the City Attorney's office for razing and removal through District
Court proceed.ings.

I own the fee to the property at 746 - 748 Capitol Heights .
The contract purchaser is Alton Prescott . After being
notified of this situation I had my contractor go up and
re-close th building. He said that there has been some
vandalism to the porch which will be taken care of right
away.
