WHEREAS, the people of Nagaski, Japan, Saint Paul ' s inter—
national sister city, have suffered greatly as the result of war
and remind us of the current suffering and tragedy which is the
result� of the Indochina war; and
WHEREAS, concerned citizens will gather on the eve ing of
Tuesday, August 8, 1g72, on Harriet Island Park at Naga i Road
to commemorate the victims of war the world over; now, erefore,
be it
RESOLVED, that August 8, 19'72, be designated in the Gity of
Saint Paul as a day of commemoration for the victims of the Indochina
war and all citizens are encouraged to observe this commemoration.
