Bredahl, Jr., Assistant Valuation Engineer Date: October 3, 1972 Subject: Alley in Block 2, Virgilia Division Ratification of Assessment This office has investigated the camplaints made by Mrs. Roman and Mrs. Rueckert in regard to slope construction along their property for the i,a�provement of sub�ect a11ey. On September 19, 1972, I met with Mrs. Roman and viewed the property and conclude that the slopes constructed along the property, for which she is the record awner, are m.inimal and not adverse to her property. In �y opinion there axe no damages to said property because of the alley con- struction pro�ect. On September 25, 1972, I met with Mrs. Rueckert and her son, Mr. John � Rueckert. The slopes along the reax west he�l.f of the property at 135 E. Lawson are approximately 4 to 5 feet in height at the alley line and �lope against a storage garage type building to a height of approximate]y 3 feet. This necessi�ates the need for a wall to protect said building. I have recommended that the awner submit a claim against the City for said damage. It is therefore recommended that the City Council ratif'y the assessment for the a11ey improvement and the slopes conatruction matters be processed independently as claims against the City.
