WHEREAS, the Counc il of the City of Saint Paul is authorized, pursuant to Laws of Minnesota for 1971, Chapter 473, to fix the compensation to be paid elected officials of the City of Saint Paul ; and W�REAS, after due coi�.sideration and study of the report of the Salary Compensation Study Committee submitted pursuant to the terms of Resolution of the Council , Council File No. 259361, the Counc il has determined a just and equitable . compensation rate for said officials, now, therefore , THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF,�Y,�AINT PAUL DOES O1�DAIN: Section 1. That pursuant to the authority provided in Laws of Minnesota for 1971, Chapter 473, the Coune-il of the City of Saint Paul does hereby fix the compensation to be paid the mayor and council�nen as follows; Mayor: �32,.�500 per annum , Couneilmen: �18, 500 per annum Section 2. The annual compensa'tion fixed herein shall � be payable in semi-monthly installments. Section 3. Al1 fees , moneys or remuneration of whatever kind accruing the mayor or councilmen other than the compensation fixed in Seetion 1 of this ordinance shall be reported to the City Council and paid monthly into the City Treasury. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty days after its passage, approval and public ati on. Section 5. The committee recommends that the maximum compensation authorized by the Ma.yor for an appointee not exceed the recommendation of the Salary Compensation Study Committee. 4. Such adjustment might be �.ecessary if the Council were elected on a different basis or the number o� Council members were increased.
