December 12, 1972
Honorable Lawrence D. Cohen, Mayor
Room 347 City Hall Court House
St. Paul , Minnesota, 55102
Dear Mayor Cohen:
The attached Ordinance amends the Parking Meter Zones and involves the
removaT of the two-hour meters on the north side of Kellogg Blvd, from
Washington St. to Seven Corners. The Civic Center Authority has ,
repeatedly expressed a strong desire to remove these meters. They would
like to accomplish this before the opening of the new arena in January.
Councilman Meredith has indicated that he would introduce the Ordinance
in Council , Little parking occurs in this area during daytime hours and
actually the metes probably are not paying for the collection and mainten-
ance costs. It also will be an excellent area for passenger deposit Auring
Civic 'Center events.
Yours very truly,
