UNCIL RESOLUTION—GENERAL FORM

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 203.2 provides for budget revisions
within the adopted budget; and
WI�REAS, In the adoption of the 1972 budget a Contingent Reserve was
provided in Charter Fund 35, Activity 0998, and
WHEREAS, Funds provided in the adopted budget for Summary Abatement -
Activity 0272 in the Department of Public Works are now depleted, and
WHE$EAS, In the interest of the public health and safety it is the
decision of this Council to continue to perform the functions, therefore
be it
RESOLVED, That Activity 0272 - Summary Abatement, in Charter Fund 7.03
is hereby increased in the amount of $25,000.00, and therefore be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That Activity 0998 in Charter Fund 35.00, Contingent
Reserve is hereby decreased in the amount of $25,000.00 and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, That this resolution shall not be adopted by the
Council until after a public hearing has been held, for which five (5) days
public notice shall hav�e been given once in the official newspaper of the
city, and the approval of the Comptroller is endorsed on this resolution.

The 1972 budget pravided $15,000 for summary abatement clean-up work
by the Depa rtmen t af Pub 1 i c Wo rks. Th rough Ma rch 24, 1972, $i�+,336.5�
_ has been charged to this activity.
If the Council intends to pass resolutions directing the Pubiic Works
Department to perform these clean-up jobs, I irequest that the budget
be increased.
The department finds it difficult to estimate how much wilt be needed,
since it is directe'd to do the work by the Council upon recommendation
of the Commissioner of Public Safety and the Bureau of Health.
Your considera�ion �of a budget opening will be appreciated.
