WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul , on
March 27, 1973, did by Resolution, Council File No. 260940,
create the committee on citizen participation as evidence
of its continuing commitment to obtain maximum citizen par-
ticipation in the affairs of local government ; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul did charge
the committee to consider t�he relationship of cominunity groups
to City government , and to submit to the Mayor and City Council
a written report thereon; and
WHEREAS, the committee is today submitting its report to
the City Council in accordance with the charge of the Council ;
and
WHEREAS, the committee in its letter of transmittal has
recommended that its report be reviewed by the City Planning
Department and Planning Commission before formal consideration
by the Mayor and City Council , now, therefore , be it
RESOLVED, that the Gouncil of the City of Saint Pau.� hereby
accepts the � report of the committee on citizen parti�ipation
and commends the committee for its le�gthy an.d thoughtful
study of the participation of commun.ity groups in the affairs
of local government; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint
Paul hereby '
-a�requests that the report be reviewed by the City Planning
Department and Planning Commission before formal eonsideration
by the Mayor and City Council ; and be it
