RESOLVED, That all orders in the above matters be and the same are hereby
cancelled, annulled, and rescinded and all proceedings in such matters
discontinued.

Dear Mayor Cohen:
Attached is a resolution rescinding the orders to construct sidewalks
on both sides of E. MARYLAND AVE. from Hazel St. to Ruth St. and on the
east side of RUTH ST. from Maryland Ave. to Hawthorne Ave.
On August 10, 1971 at the public hearing the City Council laid the
final order over one year to August 10, 1972. On August 10 , 1972 the City
Council referred the order to the Council Public Works Committee for
consideration, and the committee consensus was the order should be withdrawn
and further study of this project made and new orders will be initiated.
This preliminary order is causing hardship in the transfer of property
because of the pending assessment. The rescinding of this order at this time
will clear the Finance Department's records so that on transfer of property
an escrow account will not be required by seller.
