WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul benefits from learning about the experiences and innovations
in other cities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul benefits from networking with city officials, business
officials, and community organizations in other ciries to learn from their successes and mistakes
in the development and growth of their cities; and
WHEREAS, the 2002 Inter-City Lzadership Visit, being held from April 21 - 23, 2002 in
Denver, Colorado, will be addressing cultural, economic, transportation and workforce
development within Denver and surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, the Capital City Partnership recognizes the importance of our City leaders to learn
firsthand about innovarive practices and bring back knowledge for the benefit of the Saint Paul
community;
WHEREAS, the above-mentioned development initiarives are issues facing the City of Saint
Paul; and the City Council declares that the gift serves the public purpose of public policy
development for the City of Saint Paul;
1 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts a gift
2 firom the Capital City Partnership to pay for registration fees that include airline tickets and OZ ��
3 accommodations for Mayor Randy Kelly and Erich Mische, Director of Mazketing, Promotions
4 and Communications, to attend this Inter-City Leadership Visit being hosted by the City of
5 Denver.
