The Council of the City of Saint Paul has conducted a public hearing upon the above improvement, due notice
thereof having been given as prescribed by the City Charter; and '
WHEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and recommendations pertaining to said proposed improve-
ment and has fully considered the same; now, tlierefore, :be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby order that the above-described improvement
be made, and the proper City officers are hereby directed and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon the completion of said improvement, the proper City officers shall calculate
all expenses incurred therein and shali report the same to the City Council in accordance with Chapter 14 of the City Charter.

Dear Mayor Cohen:
Attacfied is an Administrative Order for the construction/reconstruction of
sidewalks at various locations. Also attached is an advisability arrd
desirability report for each location., These sidewalks were discussed at
the Council Public Works Committee meeting heid on Tuesday, May tst.
The new sidewalks as proposed will be constructed abutttng corn�rcial or
Class C property. In some insta�ces, particularly on Ruth St. where the Kn�tson.
Co. has partially constructed the walk on tfie east side southerly from �urns;
on Suburban on the soutfi side in front of the 8urger King and Zapata; 'and on
Hazel St. e�ctended to Ruth, the waik has been canstructed by the,property
owners.
The project will be assessed 100Pk against the property owners. The estimated
cost is $5.50 per lin. ft. for standard 5 ft. wide sidewalk and $6.50 per tin, `
ft. for standard 6 ft. wide sidewalk:
The engineering recommendation is for approval of the order:

for the constructiox� of sidewalks on portions of Suburban,
Burns, and Ruth St. with the understanding that the Public
