. WHEREAS , Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 179,
it is recognized that the employees of the City of Saint Paul
and Independent School District No, 625 have the right to
collectively bargain with said City and said School District
for their terms and conditions of employment; and
WHEREAS, The City of Saint Paul has employed Mr . Nathan
Lipson to act as its representative in such collective bargain-
ing with the employees of the City of Saint Paul ; and
WHEREAS, Prior to this year the City of Saint Paul has
negotiated salaries and terms of conditions and employment
for the employees of the Independent School District No . 625
who are under the Civil Service system, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens
of the City of Saint Paul that such joint collective bargaining
be maintained; and
WHEREAS, The administrative directors of Independent
School District No. 625 support the proposition that the City
of Saint Paul maintain the collective bargaining for employees
who are under Civil Service and employed by Independent School
District No . 625; now, therefore , be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul
hereby approves of a proposal whereby Mr . Nathan Lipson will
represent both the City of Saint Paul and Independent School
District No. 625 in the collective bargaining negotiations
establishing the terms and conditions of employment for 1974 ;
and, be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Council hereby rec{uests
that the City and Independent School District No. 625 enter
into an agreement to establish the allocation of the costs
for such joint representation, and hereby authorizes the
proper City official to sign such agreement; and, be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, That the City Clerk be instructed
to send a copy of this resolution to the Board of Independent
School District No. 625 and to Mr. Nathan Lipson. �
