WHEREAS� The Council of the City of Saint Paul following a
public hearing, did, by Resolution C. F. 255125, adopted July 30,
1971, approve the Crosby Lake-Hidden Falls Development, and did,
by Resolution C. F. 259206, adopted July 10, 1972, authorize
negotiations for the acquisition of the two parcels of land
involved for this project; and
WHEREAS, The Council is informed by the Bureau of Valua.tions
that the owner of Parcel No. 2 is not willing to accept the
appraised valuation of this property, and tha.t it will be neces-
sary to acquire the property by eminent domain proceedings; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does
hereby authorize the acquisition of the following described real
estate, being Parcel No. 2, by condemnation in accordance with
Minnesota �tatutes, Chapter 117, the said land to be used for
the expa.nsio� of Crosby Iake-Hidden Falls Park;;; Project, the
Council having found and determined tha.t this is a proper public
purpose, an:d°�he City Attorney is hereby autFiorized and dir�cted �
to commence condemnation proceedings forthwith.
Except the West 100 feet thereof and except tha.t
pa.rt taken by the City of Saint Paul, Lot 31,
Franklin Steele' s Subdivision of Lot 2, Section
21, Township 28, Range 23, subject to easements
in favor of Northern States Power Compa.ny and
the State of Minnesota Highway Department.

Dear Roy:
In going over the correspondence which you transmitted,
I feel that it is advisable tha.t we obtain a Council
resolution specifically authorizing acquiring of Parcel
No. 2 by condemnation. I enclose a resolution herewith.
I am in the process of preparing the petition for ap-
pointment of court commissioners .
I think it would be advisable to obtain a survey of the
property to be acquired so that we can be sure tha.t the
land owned by Mrs . Ciesinski is the same property tha.t
we are to acquire . I would also appreciate receiving
any ownership information that you ma.y have on this
property. If you don' t have documentation as to owner-
ship, I will have to order an abstract of title .
