City Clerk ' Room 386 City Hall Dear Sir: This is written in response to the application of Twin City Federal Savings and Loan for a permit to install a 65-car parking lot on property located on the west side of Snelling between James and Randolph. This property is further described by the legal description on file. At its January 4, 1973, meeting, the Board of Zoning acted to suspend its rules concerning notification of property owners and consider a site plan which differed from the one they considered on December 7th, 1972. The staff explained they had just received the new plan several days before but had obtained verbal approval from the Traffic Engineer and Sewer Design personnel for the plan. The staff said they had requested minor revisions. The applicant's representative presented copies which incorporated the recuested changes. The Board noted that the points of access were the same as on the previous plan and the major difference was the lack of an extra level of parking resulting in 16 fewer stalls. Subsequently, the Board heard a motion to recommend approval. The motion was seconded and carried by a vote of 4 to 0. Marshall City Clerk Room 386 City Hall Dear Sir: This is written in response to the application of Twin City Federal Savings and Loan for a permit to install a 74-car ramp and a 7-car lot on property located on the west side of Snelling between James and Randolph. This property is further described by the legal description on file. This matter was heard at the December 7, 1972, Board of Zoning public hearing. The staff reported that the plans meet design standards but that action on the parking lot siould be conditioned on the pending vacation of an alley which is part of the site. Mr. Joseph Courteau, 1618 James, speaking for himself and two of his neighbors, objected to the entrance drive on James Avenue because James Avenue is a residential street. In considering the matter, the Board noted that the parking lot has the Traffic Engineer's approval and that the drive on James is for ingress only. Subsequently, the Board heard a motion to recommend approval of the plan. The motion was seconded and carried by a vote of 3 to 1. Very truly yours, v './yz, PETER J.
