WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 15113 Was passed by the Council
� and effective as of July 10, 1972, and
WHEREAS, said ordinance provided that effective as of
that date all city employees who received a promotion would receive
at leas# a 5/ increase as opposed to a provision of at least a 3%
increase which existed prior to said ordinance, and
WHEREAS, as a result of the amendments made by said
ordinance, some city employees who were promoted prior to the
effective date of said ordinance are receiving less pay than
employees who were promoted to identical positions after the
effe�tive date, and
WHEREAS, an ordinance will b� submitted to the Council
which shall provide that employees so effected by Ordinance No.
15113 who were promoted before the effective date of Ordinance
No. 15113 shall receive the pay they would have received had they
been promoted after the effective date of said ordinance, and '
. WHEREAS, as it i.s the intention of the Council that
this undesirable situation be rectified at the earliest possible
time, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED That this Council does hereby express it' s
intent to make the provisions of the above described proposed
ordinance effective on and after the approval and publication of
this resolution and that said ordinance shall reflect this intent
and purpose.
