WHEREAS, "PERA Com�ittee for Change," is a state-wide organization Pounded for
the purpose of improving benetits for all Memberffi eovered by Public 8nployeea'
Retirement Association( PERA), 8tate of Minaesota�; and,
��HEREAS, All City Employees' are Members of PERA and current retireffient and
survivor benefits are inadequate to m�eet present living conditioas; aBd, changes
are necessary to improve said plan �+hich requireffi action by the State Legislature;

WHE[�EAS, the "PERA Committee for Change" Will in�ur certain expenses in promoting
improved benefits; and,
WHEREAS, Public bnployees' Le,bor Relations Act of 1971, Chapter 33, Lat�►s of 1971 -
Extra Session, e11oWS employees' a voluntary due� check-ofP aystem,
NOW, THTREFORE, BE IT RESOLYED, That the City Co�cil authorizes the proper pay-
roll officials to deduct $2.00, once annually, Prom a pay check of the cmployees'
who so vdluntarily elect to have this deduction.
