An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 6446, entitled:
"An administrative ordinance fixing the com-
pensation rates of certain city positions and employments, "
approved January 23, 1925, as amended.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 6446, approved January 23, 1925,
as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by stsiking out
of Section II, where they appear under the heading "Group D", the
following line s:
''Janitor
First year of employment 4. 61 �'
Second year of employment 4. 76
Third year of employment and thereafter 4. 91 !' ;
and by substituting in lieu thereof the following lines:
"Custodian
Start of employment through 6 months of employment $4. 61
7th month of employment through 12 months of employment 4. 76
13th month of employment through 24 months of employment 4. 86
25th month of employment and thereafter 5, O1 " .

Section 2. That said ordinance, as amended, be and the same
is hereby further amended by striking out Section III D, which reads as
follows:
"D To employees employed in the Public Safety Building under the
title Janitor or Custodian-Engineer I--Public Safety, a sum not
to exceed eleven and one-half cents (112�) per hour as payment
for working hours not normally worked by other employees
employed under such titles in other departments. "
Sec�ian 3. That said ordinance, as amended, be and the same
is hereby further amended by striking out of the third paragraph of
Section III K the words �'to employee s to whom the provisions of
Sectio� III D are applicable, or ".
Section 4. This ordiriance shall take effect and be in force on the
first day of the first payroll period following thirty days after its pass�.ge,
approval, and publication.

MEMORANDUM �

These ordinar�ces are being proposed to fulfill the agreements made with
various exclusive representatives of employees, or to grant changes in 2 �g��
salary to employees not covered under previous Council ordinances and �����
concerning whom negotiations have been completed.
These ordinances propose to: ������

l. Abolish the title Custodian-Engineer (Municipal Stadium}, �����t1
,�b����4
2, Change the title Janitor to Custodian. ����
�
3. Change the rate of pay for Assistant Supervisor of Custodians not L
included in the bargaining unit because it was a supervisory employee
and was not included in the manual and maintenarce because it was
an ungraded position. The proposed increase is exactly the same
cents-per-hour as those in the bargaining unit received.
4. Remove from the Graded Division and place in the Ungraded
Division the title Instrument Repairman (Filter Plant), and to
change the pay of this job to the same pay as the Utilityman.
5. Change the rate for Lime Recovery Operator and Pumping
Engineer III, in accordance with our l�tter of agreement.

This move will involve an increase of approximately five per cent,
the same amount that those supervisors in the Graded Division
alr�ady received.
7, Change the rate of pay for Cook I, Baker I, and Food Service Aide,
titles now in the special employ�nt group, approximately the same
5% that was received. by the Cook II and Baker II in the Graded Division.
