WHEREAS, The date of Thursday, August 9, 1973, has been
selected as the d.ate for the annual picnic for the City and
County employees, to be held in Como Park, in this City; and
WHEREAS, 'Irhe members of the Council of the City of Saint
Paul feel that this event does much to promote a wholesome
and beneficial relationship between and among City and County
employees; and
WHEREAS, Zrhe Council members desire to encourage the
attendance of the employees; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, 'I'hat the Council hereby approves and recommends
that the head of each department of City government be
authorized by the Mayor to release for one-half day, with
pay, those employees who wish to and do attend the picnic
on August 9, 1973, provided that such departments are urged
to maintain sl�eleton crews on the job to:.conduct the business
of the City.
