WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, acting through its Valuation Engineer, has secured an agreement
with Ramsey County for the purchase of one parcel of real property, described as follows:
Subject to Highway and Easements; Lot 2, Block 29, Lyman Dayton's Addition to the City of
Saint Paul, Minnesata; and

WHEREAS, said property is needed to complement and enhance the value of adjacent railroad property,
known as The I.ower Phalen Creek Project - Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary, which the City expects to
acquire in the future; and
WF3EREAS, the value of said property is Twenty-Eight Thousand, One Hundred Fifty-Six Dollazs and
Seventy-Five Cents ($28,156.75); and
WHEREAS, the Valuation Engineer has recommended the purchase of said property at the
recommended value; now therefore be it

i� RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to pay Ramsey County the

n 1954 Ramsey County (on behalf of the MN DepL of Revenue) offered this tas-forfeit parcel to the City for its use. At
at time the City declined The parcel remained vacant and ta�c-forfeit until 1995 when it was purchased by a private
arty who subsequenUy defaulted, returning the property to tas-forfeit status. The County has indicated that the City
ay now acquire this property, but only by direct purchase and at its appraised value oF $27,200, plus fees and costs.
