1 WHEREAS, the City contributes to various State pension plans required by State Statute and
2 other pension plans required by bargauung unit contracts, and
3 WHEREAS, the City cannot contribute any funds to the Public Employee Retirement
4 Association (PERA) for a City employee receiving an annuity from PERA, and
5 WHEREAS, the current Executive Assistant to the Mayor receives an annuiry from PERA,
6 and
7 WHEREAS, to be consistent with the level of contributions for all other non-elected Ciry
8 employees, the City should contribute the City's portion of the PERA pension to another
9 retirement account on behalf of the Executive Assistant to the Mayor, now therefare be it
10 RESOLVED, that the City's share of contribution that would have been paid to PERA on
11 behalf of the Executive Assistant to the Mayor be paid to the City's Deferred Compensation
12 Plan on a quarterly basis coznmencing calendar year 2002 and continue for so long as this
13 individual is an employee of the City.
