WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul benefits, through the involvement in the arts and the creation
of a charter arts high school, by economic growth, urban vitality and marketing opportunities for
the City;
WHEREAS, a member of the Mayor's Charter High School Taskforce will tour Baltimore
School for the Arts as a part of the Mayor's initiative on arts and culture, and the creation of a
Saint Paul Charter High School for the perfornung arts;
WHEREAS, Erich Mische, Director of Marketing and Promotions, is a member of the Mayor's
Charter High School Taskforce and has been designated to participate in the tour of Baltimore
School for the Arts;
WHEREAS, the Saint Paui Chamber of Commerce would like to give a prorated round trip
airline ticket to the Director of Mazketing and Promotions;
WHEREAS, the City will not incur any City expenses related to this trip;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts the gift
of the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce and declazes that acceptance of said gift serves a public
purpose in promoting economic development for the City of Saint Paul.
