Pledging support of the City of St. Paul in the United States Savings Bonds
Program and urging participation by City employees in the Automatic Payroll
Savings Plan.
WHEREAS, the United States Savings Bonds Program continues to play an
important role in the financing of our government and in the sound management
of the public debt; and
WHEREAS, by promoting thrift the Savings Bonds Program contributes to
the economic security of individual families and helps to control inflationary
pressures;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
St. Paul :
That it reaffirms its continuous support of the United States Savings
Bonds Program in general and of the Automatic Payroll Savings Plan in
specific and urges all City employees to participate in this thrift-oriented
program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and all department heads be urged
to assume a role of leadership during the upcoming United States Savings
Bonds campaign for City employees so as to facilitate its implementation.
